AIGLES: A Major Reform for the Modernization of Public Administration
The Minister in charge of the Public Service held a special press briefing today in Yaoundé on the AIGLES project (Computerized Application for Logical Management of State Personnel and Payroll).
On this occasion, tribute was paid to the High Vision of the Head of State, His Excellency Paul BIYA, as well as to the constant support of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph DION NGUTE, whose strategic guidance made the effective implementation of this historic and far-reaching reform of Cameroon’s Public Administration possible.
Operational since 1 January 2025, AIGLES embodies the presidential ambition to equip the State with an integrated, sovereign and high-performance system for managing public service personnel and payroll. It addresses key challenges related to staff control, payroll database clean-up, administrative transparency and good public governance.
Since its deployment, AIGLES has ensured the regular, secure and traceable payment of salaries to more than 503,000 public servants, global payroll staff and pensioners. From January to December 2025, a total amount of 1.753 trillion FCFA was disbursed, with payroll now fully aligned with career data.
The automation of major career management processes, including promotions and tenure confirmations, has significantly improved efficiency, fairness and reliability, while considerably reducing processing delays and errors.
Today, AIGLES stands as the State’s single integrated human resources management system, replacing former platforms. In 2026, priority will be given to the completion of biometric and electronic archiving modules, as well as to consolidating achievements, in support of a more modern, efficient and citizen-oriented Public Administration.
